Earlier today we reported, Meiko Satomura posted photos of herself, her trainees and one surprise guest trainee – the former WWE Women’s Champion, Tag-Team Champion and NXT Womens Champion “The Boss” Sasha Banks.
Tokyo Sports provided some additional notes on the trip Sasha Banks took to Japan. Banks came to Japan on her own and without manager on July 7. She went to the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on Sunday to see a Sendai Girls event. Afterwards she had dinner with Naomichi Marufuji from japanese wrestling promotion NOAH.
On Monday, July 8 she travelled to Sendai via Shinkansen high-speed railway on her own using her smartphone to navigate. Banks contacted the Sendai Girls office directly, asking if she could train at the dojo. Meiko Satomura stated she couldn’t hide her surprise about Banks coming to Japan on her own.
Banks participated in the training session on the afternoon of July 9th. She entered the dojo one hour before the practice started, and was carefully warming up. Other participants were DASH Chasiko, the former Sendai Girls champion Chihiro Hashimoto and two younger trainees. Banks: “I wanted to learn japanese women’s wrestling.”
Tokyo Sports says it seems she will stay in Japan this week, but her plans are “undecided after the 10th”.
Sasha Banks has not been on WWE television since Wrestlemania 35, where she and Bayley lost their Tag-Team Titles to the IIconics. Nikki Bella recently revealed that there were plans for an IIconics vs Bella Twins Women’s Tag-Team Title feud after Wrestlemania 35.
